"Founders Dave and Joe opened their very first shop on Heaton Road back in 1981, and together with their wives built a highly successful business fitting quality kitchens and bedrooms, sustained with customer service that was, and still is, second-to-none. Seven years later, they made the decision to branch out into manufacturing, both supplying retail customers and providing a one stop shop for the trade sector to purchase kitchen units, bedroom furniture, worktops and Appliances.
Not long afterwards, the company enjoyed further growth and consequently moved their factory for the third time to meet the ever-increasing demand for their expertise. In 1996, the company became limited and continued to trade successfully until 2008, when Dave and Joe decided to expand even further into the bathroom market. Prior to this decision, bathrooms had only been a small part of the business, but together with double glazing and conservatories became a pioneering range for Kitchens Plus.
Their trademark Three Step Process, suitable for domestic, commercial or trade enquiries, leads to a streamlined and hassle-free experience. The first involves planning and design, the second delivery and installation, and the final, and arguably most important, stage is their dedicated after sales support. It's these professional details, combined with a friendly and personalised touch and a genuine investment in every bespoke brief, that ensure the happiness and overall satisfaction of their clients.
Recently, the team have installed a high quality sliding wardrobe system display to complement the major refit at their leading showroom in Team Valley, comprising brand new bathroom and kitchen displays. At this location, a full design service is available, as well as 3D CAD project drawings and a complete fitting service, potentially including aspects such as building work. There are also two other showrooms in the North East, in Monkseaton and Sunderland, which both boast stunning displays full of potential options to make your dream kitchen or bathroom a reality. To meet the added demands of successful expansion, a new phone and computer system has been developed to build comprehensive databases tracking every single case. Kitchens Plus have also hired an installation manager for every service, an inspector and five surveyors as a second check to ensure that even once the designers have completed the order, quality is guaranteed in accordance with the customer's expectations. As well as investing in a new CAD design system, they've also installed an automated costing system to produce full customer quotations. All of these steps guarantee a first class service, as customer care will always be the prime objective." Lifestyle Magazine Article, 2013
